HAHA SOUNDS COLLECTIVE SILK ROCK

Haha Sounds Collective are a group of London-based musicians with roots in jazz, soundtrack and avant-garde music. Consisting of members of a number of notable projects from Stereolab to Ulrika Spacek, Faux Real and many more, the competent collective have shared their interpretation of Marker Starling's new single 'Silk Rock'. Considerably more laid back in its approach than Starling's version, choral group vocals are spearheaded by Stereolab's Laetitia Sadier, adding an uplifting quality to the loungey rendition. Flowing beats, lucid sax parts and vibey keys interact freely as subtly groovy bass guitar writhes in the background and gives way at all the right moments. Airy flutes and metallic triangle strikes add an interesting point of difference, to the excellently balanced mix by collective member, audio engineer and artist in his own right Syd Kemp.
